DEA Drug Take-Back Day: April 28

The DEA is holding another drug take-back day on April 28. It is sponsored by the US Department of Justice and DEA. The collection takes place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The collections in Monongalia County will be held at the Sheriff’s Office at 116 Walnut St., and at the Pierpont Landing Pharmacy at 7000 Midatlantic Rd. The collection is anonymous. Prescription and OTC medications such as tablets and capsules will be accepted. IV’s, needles and injection based medications will NOT be accepted. Neither will illegal substances.

Earth Day 5k/10k

It’s that time of year again! On Saturday, April 28, Impact E.A.R.T.H. is having the 5th annual Earth Day 5k. This year, there will also be a 10k. Additionally, runners can join as a team. For details and rules, see this brochure.

To celebrate Earth Day, you can also participate in a local Community Cleanup Project, volunteer as staff for the race, or apply for a community improvement grant. For details on all of these ideas, see this flier.

New Public Drop Off: Wadestown

We are currently installing a new drop off at the Wadestown Fire Department. We don’t have all of the containers there yet, but over the next several days, the site will be completed. Here is a link to the location on google maps.

New Best Buy eCycling Policy

Best Buy is no longer charging the $10 fee for eCycling. CRT TVs under 32″ are free and flat panel TVs under 60″ are free. See this site for details.

Transfer Station Relocated

The Transfer Station has RELOCATED. Please do not take trash to the Cheat Lake location.

It is now located at the Morgantown Industrial Park, effective November 7, 2011.
